I feel I would be an asset to your organization. After Yale University Class of '71 (www.yale.edu), I completed three years of the Information and Computer Science Major at UC Irvine and Cal State Northridge and I am already accepted to Cal State East Bay in Hayward for to finish my final year of the B.S.C.S. I have also applied to Cal, the University of California at Berkeley (www.berkeley.edu) to be a senior in the College of Engineering Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science for Fall 2007; I will hear April 30. I tell them that if I do well enough and the financial aid (I'll get off my SSI) holds out I may become the oldest grad/professional student seeking perhaps a joint degree with two of the following: M.D./J.D./M.B.A./Ph.D. in Computer Science or Music from Cal and/or Ph.D. in Medical and Biological Informatics from UCSF. I am taking Business 10, Introduction to Business, and English 1A, Reading and Composition, at Berkeley City College for Spring 2007 and if I get two A’s I am already automatically accepted to CSEB as a senior in the Computer Science Major. I went from UCI to Cal State because of low grades even though I got straight A’s in Lowell High School, have an I.Q. of 159, and got B’s (High Passes) at Yale because I have a learning disability, a bad memory, possibly Alzheimer’s, I think from the chronic prostatitis I caught at age twenty-six. I have five years of programming experience and two years of sales experience. I am applying to Silicon Valley companies like Apple, IBM, Microsoft, Intel, HP, Google, and Sun for such positions as software engineer, database administrator, and programmer/analyst. I want a six-figure job.

I met Wavy Gravy and the Hog Farm (www.wavygravy.net) when they were security at the Woodstock Music Festival and lived with them on their commune in Llano, New Mexico. I hung out with them in Berkeley, and I attended Adult Camp at their Camp Winnarainbow (www.campwinnarainbow.org, www.skypilotclub.com) in Laytonville three times. I worked security with them and the Hells Angels at pop festivals, and they also are backstage for the Grateful Dead, Phil Lesh and Friends, and Bobby Weir and Ratdog (www.dead.net). I was a lifelong friend of Hog Farmer Little Richie Shirley, who I met at Woodstock, who worked in the Dead’s backstage crew and whose wife Andrea worked in the Grateful Dead office and is head cook at Camp Winnarainbow. Wavy Gravy, his wife, Jahanera Romney, Ram Dass, Bobby Weir, and Dr. Larry Brilliant also have an opthamological blindness project in Nepal and India called the SEVA Foundation financed by benefits by artists like Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young, Bonnie Raitt, Jackson Browne, Loggins and Messina, Buffy Ste.-Marie, Joan Baez, Peter, Paul, and Mary, Odetta, The Band (that backed up Bob Dylan), John Lee Hooker, Kris Kristofferson, and Sweet Honey in the Rock. I am volunteering for the IT Director. I am taking the Eudora emails, putting them into Excel or Notepad, and putting those into The Raiser's Edge nonprofit fundraisers' management database software. I also play lead guitar and sing a Jerry Garcia Tribute in a Grateful Dead (and other bands we like) cover band with originals: The Eric Abrahamson Band. I am CEO, President, Chairman of the Board, CIO, Boss, Owner, Founder, and God, of EricAbrahamsonsBoutique.com, an ecommerce international business offering licensed Grateful Dead Merchandise, downloads, and electronics. For the last fifteen years I have been married to Laurie Senit, a Hollywood actress and comedian with a B.A. in Psychology from UCLA (she got straight 'A's' in M.F.T. grad school at Pepperdine University, was a Penthouse Pet, and was invited to the Playboy Mansion).

I would like to impress you with my family's prominence. My mother, Lucille Abrahamson, was elected to the San Francisco School Board for six years and served two years as President, worked in the San Francisco Mayor's Office of Childcare under Mayor Dianne Feinstein, and was appointed to the San Francisco Human Rights Commission by Mayor Frank Jordan, the former police chief. My sister, a Bel-Air lawyer, worked in the White House as Assistant Chief-of-Staff to Vice-President Bush and is Chairman of the Barbara Bush Literacy Campaign. She also worked on AIDS research as a board member of the Jonas Salk Foundation at UCSD in La Jolla, is a board member of the National Geographic Magazine, and runs a thinktank, the Jefferson Institute. My brother-in-law, Jonathan Aronson, is a USC Professor of International Relations, formerly department director, and Executive Director of the Annenberg Center for Communications. My father, James Abrahamson, who still lives at 29 West Clay Park in San Francisco, is a retired restaranteur and institutional furniture salesman and has a B.A. from Stanford University in Economics. My sister got her J.D. from Boalt Hall at Cal, her Ed.D. from the Graduate School of Education at Harvard University, and her M.A. in Art Education from the Stanford University School of Education. I was also accepted to Stanford University as a freshman, and UCSC, but chose to attend Yale University instead.

I would like to share my enthusiasm for this position with you. You will never find a better or more dedicated worker. I am a dynamic people person and am well-liked by my co-workers. I would be pleased to become part of the team. I'm thinking of going over to Wavy & Jah's House, a few blocks away from here at Rubicon, down Henry Street. Wavy's doing his art show on Saturday with the new band Revival All-Stars in Marin--I'm planning to go. Although I missed the 71st Birthday SEVA Benefit last week with Mickey Hart. I was planning to go of course--but a lot of money was missing from my bank account. 75% of it went to overdrafts. Now the Internet Radio is playing Midnight Moonlight. I would have gone. They moved it from the
Berkeley Community Theater to the Grand Theater--the new name for old the Avalon Ballroom at Van Ness and Sutter. "The Alaskan morning sunrise will be the brightest you've ever seen." I was going to go over to Wavy and Jah's Henry Street House today, because B said, "No contact!" twice on Saturday, but I'm going Thursday after I wash my clothes. B also said (after someone said, "A new one!"), "No, he's an old one who came back!" That's how they talk, I swear. You figure it out; I'm still trying--you bet I'm thinking about it.

Anyhow, I saw a poster for Wavy's art show in Marin at the San Geronimo Community Center, selling art from Stanley Mouse (I've talked to Mouse a coupla times, once at a meeting at the Beatnik Museum in North Beach where Wavy was billed and spoke) and Dave Sheridan and featuring a new band called the Revival All Stars with members of Zero (who played at his 71st Birthday Seva Benefit last Friday at the Grand with Mickey Hart), JGB, and Big Brother. I have five years of programming experience and two years of sales experience. I am applying to Silicon Valley companies like Apple, IBM, Microsoft, Intel, HP, Google, and Sun for such positions as software engineer, database administrator, and programmer/analyst. I want a six-figure job. I met Wavy Gravy and the Hog Farm (http://www.wavygravy.net/) when they were security at the Woodstock Music Festival and lived with themon their commune in Llano, New Mexico. I hung out with them in Berkeley, and I attended Adult Camp at their Camp Winnarainbow (http://www.campwinnarainbow.org/, http://www.skypilotclub.com/) in Laytonville hree times. I worked security with them and the Hells Angels at pop festivals, and they also are backstage for the Grateful Dead, Phil Lesh and Friends, and Bobby Weir and Ratdog (http://www.dead.net/). Larry Brilliant also have an opthamological blindness project in Nepal and India called the SEVA Foundation financed by benefits by artists like Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young, Bonnie Raitt, Jackson Browne, Loggins and Messina, Buffy Ste.-Marie, Joan Baez, Peter, Paul and Mary, Odetta, The Band (that backed up Bob Dylan), John Lee Hooker, Kris Kristofferson, and Sweet Honey in the Rock. I am volunteering for the IT Director. I am taking the Eudora emails, putting them into Excel or Notepad, and putting those into The Raiser's Edge nonprofit fundraisers management database software. She also worked on AIDS research as a board member of the Jonas Salk Foundation at UCSD in La Jolla, is a board memberof the National Geographic Magazine, and runs a thinktank, the Jefferson Institute. My brother-in-law got his Ph.D. from Stanford University and his B.A. from Harvard University. My sister got her J.D. from Boalt Hall at Cal, her Ed.D. from the Graduate School of Education at Harvard University, and her M.A. in Art Education from the Stanford University School of Education. I was also accepted to Stanford University as a freshnman, and UCSC, but chose to attend Yale University instead. I would like to share my enthusiasm for this position with you. You will never find a better or more dedicated worker. I am a dynamic people person and am well-liked by my co-workers. I would be pleased to become part of the team. I work hard, love computers, am a strong programmer, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. I have an IQ of 159, I am the world's greatest IT executive, and I truly am the best and the brightest. I will be pleased to discuss my background in further detail upon meeting with you in person. I look forward to hearing from you in the nearf uture. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration. Beth emailed me and said they didn't get enough registrations for the summer retreats so they're cutting back on the Summer Stewardships and just trying to keep the Foundation together. But I called them today to appeal and they said call back so I'm going to call them back tomorrow and try to talk to Austin. Quit smoking. Broke up with Laurie, but I'm going to go see her tomorrow, since I didn't get into Lama. I'm happy, and I must admit, stoned on pot. All you junior narks out there can fuck yourselves. Your own karma will pay you back.

I went out with my sister Joan this aft and she bought me a pair of running shoes. She's very nice but basically selfish as those Rethuglicans she hangs out with. Too bad I didn't get into Lama; I could go out there and cut myself off from her and her frumpy husband. I hate this board-and-care home/concentration camp. I just keep out of there and keep busy, like now I'm typing and creating at the UCLA Library. I'm going to call a lot of truck stop owners next week and try to sell them Willie Nelson Biodiesel, when I get the money for a phone card--Joan leaves me without a phone, the bitch! But at least she didn't take anything else back or away today.

I'm going to call Chara in a few minutes. She said Saturday, when i spoke to her last, to call her in the next 10 days. She's moving across the road from her house. Boy, do I crave a cigarette. But all I get is water. I bought a pack of herbal Ginseng cigarettes Saturday when Joan paid me my weekly $30 (she always pays me on a different day) but they made me crave the regular nicotine cigarettes I smoked last night at the Cubensis show. I haven't had a cigarette all day, and I have to quit now, because I can't afford to buy any more cigarettes.

The sun is setting outside the library window. I think I'll call Richie Shirley, too. Richie has got terminal liver cancer. Before he had Hepatitis C. The doctor gave him 1 month or till the end of the year; he's trying to last till October when his grandchild will be born. I feel so bad about it. The doctor said he'd operate but it'd kill him; or give him chemo but he'd wish he were dead, or it would kill him. I wonder what words of wisdom he'll give me. Last time he told me he was reading The Diamond Sutra. I said, "I read that, too." He said, "But you have to understand it.
"

This is a pretty good writing session. It helps to be stoned. I guess I'll write for about 7 more minutes, until the library bell chimes 7, and then I'll get a drink of water and make my phone calls. I'm really tempted to go bum a cigarette from one of the students but then I'd be hooked on them again and it's a big hassle; not to mention bad for your health. They'd probably be OK if they didn't harm you and cause heart disease and lung cancer.

Four more minutes. What to write about. I'm feeling pretty good. I guess that's because I'm in this beautiful library, whereas usually I'm in that dingy, dirty board-and-care home from which there's no escape for most inmates. I'm going to ask Drs. Fine, Riceberg, and Reisbord to help me get out. We just have to talk Joan into it--I can afford my own place on my SSI ($800).

I need an acid trip, or at least 'shrooms. They're around, I just can't afford it. Poor me. My parents are going to invite me up to their house in San Francisco. Hope I can take their car (a Mercedes) and go see Richie where he lives at Camp Winnarainbow.

LATER...Well, I took a break, and called Richie, and Andrea answered. She said they're about to have dinner, and to call back in an hour. She's the nicest person (Richie's wife) you ever want to meet, like Mountain Girl. So I'm going to leave to call her back in about 25 minutes. I can't call Chara because that phone wants a dollar for a call whereas most pay phones around here want 50 cents. But I'll call Chara next week. I have to call Andrea back. The burdens I carry being poor. "Walk this world when I was born to fly." as Robert Hunter says in Liberty.

I've pretty much lost the craving for cigarettes--I'm just drinkin a lot of water. Speakin of drinkin, last night I had a beer with my pot, went down good. What I hate about Brentwood Manor is they don't allow drinkin, and they believe that, the damn Catholics. What to write about? Wish I could call Chara, too. I thought it would be 50 cents a call. They're ripping off these UCLA students. And then I'll go to bed hungry tonight again. Slept through breakfast. And I still get fast, like everyone else in Brentwood Manor, on this damn malnourishing food.
This place is pure punishment. Punishment for being labeled mentally ill.

I think I'll spend the remaining 15 minutes surfing my favorite websites: skypilotclub.com, key-z.com, and dead.net.

May 16

I have to admit, I'm high, stoned. Now if any of you are Jr. DEA Pigs out there, you can just fuck yourselves. On the way up the hill to the UCLA Library I was thinking: Beyond a certain age, when you think of the world's future, you have to think beyond your own lifespan, for the good of all. So I'm thinking about the environment, and some type of U.N-like world government.

John Lennon said, "Imagine there's no countries." Everyone would get a vote. A World Congress or World Federalism, everyone would be represented. We would make agreements on transportation. At the Llano Hog Farm the only rule was, "Do whatever you want as long as you don't hurt anybody." The Rainbow Family Gathering has only three rules, no murder, rape, or child molestation. These will be punished. Do we want to vote on laws, crime and punishment?

We need to preserve knowledge for the future: farming, manufacturing, and recorded music, and education, to start out. Murray Bookchin wrote of, "Post-Scarcity Anarchy." We don't want overpopulation so we want abortion and birth control, progressivism.

May 14

Haven't gotten into Lama yet. I have to go back there for lunch in 20 minutes.

The night before last Mark Barasch, my classmate from Yale in 1967 was in town to sign his book, Field Notes On a Compassionate Life. He has a Buddhist teacher. He's suffered a lot; his first book was about having cancer--later books were about it's remission.

I'm reading The South Beach Diet and I know I've really got to lose weight since I have both heart disease and diabetes if I don't want to wake up dead with a heart attack. It looks like Laurie and I are breaking up, and I'm hoping to go back to Lama Foundation in Taos, NM in about a month. I just have to get accepted. I was there last summer. It's so beautiful there. It's surrounded on three sides by National Forest, with a natural spring. And I've got a job to do there: Commissioned Sales Representative for Willie Nelson BioWillie Biodiesel. I'm selling to truck stop and gas station owners. It's vegetable oil, mostly soy, it costs $1.79 a gallon, and it can be burned in any diesel engine unmodified. There are about 300 biodiesel filling stations in the U.S., and 4 of ours in Texas. So our company is just taking off.

My Laurie

I'm sitting here in the office where Laurie works, listening to Laurie's bird-like voice in the next cubicle. Last night I came down here and a friend of hers said, "Why don't you go back with Laurie?" I said, "I never really left." I'd been telling her I'd known Laurie for 14 years, and lived with Laurie at least 5 years.

The radio is playing, "She's some kind of wonderful! Yes she is!" So, today, Laurie called me at home about an hour and a half ago. She said she was going to a movie dubbing tonight and invited me to come. She told me to come over to her office. So the whole way down here on the bus I was very, very happy thinking about the relationship between me and her.

A few minutes ago she came in and I grabbed her around the butt and rocked her back and forth. Laurie is still very beautiful, and she has enormous breasts. She's appeared in Playboy and was a Penthouse Pet. I'm so in love with Laurie today I'm overflowing with happiness. "My cup runneth over." "Reach out your hand/If your cup be empty/If your cup is full/May it be again."--Robert Hunter.

I'm going through this process of healing from all the emotional damage this whole episode with the board-and-care home has caused, and I'm doing it! I'm beginning to heal from all the stress! I'm starting to be happy all the time. I told Laurie's friend last night, "When I was living with Laurie I used to lie in bed each night and say to her, 'I'm happier today than I was yesterday!'" I'm starting to get back that fullness of joy that I used to experience before all this happened. And she was the catalyst. And I'm with her now. Oh joy!

Love is a wonderful thing. As Bob Dylan said, "It can cure the soul/It can make you whole/True love brings such harmony." I really do love Laurie, and she always tells me that she loves me. Love is the meaning or purpose of life--the reproduction and continuation of the species. I was hoping for years that Laurie and I would have kids. It wasn't meant to be, but maybe someday we could adopt some or will have some. I can dream. But I am a happy with her alone--it gives us more time for each other.

Thursday, what's it rhyme with?

Well, I got the job but I had to quit. Watched the Super Bowl, or as Babbs says on skypilotclub today, the Stupor Bowl, with the great half-time entertainment by Paul McCartney of The Beatles fame. Paul sang Drive My Car, Get Back, Live and Let Die, and wound up with Hey Jude. During Hey Jude he encouraged the audience to sing along with the chorus, and said, "Let me hear the whole world singing!" And when he sang, "Don't carry the world upon your shoulders" he emphasized the word "world". Pretty impressive; he could save the world. He had a four-sided stage that you could see from every side. And great fireworks, flames, and light show. I think Willie Nelson was in a commercial, too. H & R Block, and I think he had tax problems once.

Yesterday night I did volunteer work at Laurie's office. I'm writing an article for their newletter called "Expose of Board-and-Care Homes". Let's try out the color lettering: The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog. Babbs put a picture of Chinese Communist revolutionaries marching with a picture of him and a Sky Pilot flag on top of skypilotclub.com. Kind of jogs my mind because I've been reading the Revolutionary Communist Party literature the students hand out here on the UCLA campus and also there are lots of Chinese students here. But Babbs couldn't know anything about what I'm doing--it must be a trend in society, or a coincidence.

Saturday, ahoy!

I'm thinking of a different job. I'll probably call this one, but I foresee problems. I just realized, about these other jobs, that they might be door-to-door, in which case I'll think twice. I was thinking they were raising donations on the phone. One's for California League of Conservation Voters, one's to put the Democrats back in control of the Senate in 2006, and the other one is Santa Monica rent control. The first 2 pay $10-20/hr. and the last $14-24. I'll have to see. I'll call them Monday.

There's also a job I got an interview for for a "Best Of" section of a TV show called "Here and Now". This month it's best restaurants; next it's best nightclubs. You try to get them to sign a contract. The ad claims you can make $2K-$5K per week. Maybe I will go for the Majital Solutions LLC/Savitron job after all--my feet are hurting!

Cubensis isn't playing this Sunday, so maybe I'll volunteer at Laurie's office and send out resumes on their computers. Apple just introduced a smaller "shuffle" iPod, so maybe it didn't fly. I haven's seen one in public. The only one I've seen is my nephew's, and that was mounted on a speaker stand. I became interested when Robert Hunter, the Dead's lyricist, said in his journal that the Dead had signed a deal with iTunes to sell their music over the Internet. But then he said, as a sarcastic "solution" to some world problem, "stick an iPod in your ear". Is Apple going to be in trouble if they can't sell the iPod? Steve Jobs has probably already thought of that. I heard on the radio today that Apple is currently the most-recognized brand in the world.

What else to write about? Tomorrow is Super Bowl Sunday--might as well watch that since the Cube isn't playing. Then Monday call all these jobs. I'm sitting in the UCLA Library, and I'm gonna email out more resumes. I'm getting a response!

Thursdays's Word

Well, I don't know yet if I'm going to take this job or not. For one thing, the closest offices are in Irvine and Fremont, and I'm not sure how to get the travel money. Secondly, there are 2 websites, majital & savitron, and the savitron website is 2004, a year later, and has about half the products to sell. So I think that the company didn't do as well as they hoped in the 2003 website. I may do it, tho.

Some other reasons are that I returned a call from another tech sales job, for Anaya Telecom, and he told me that his sales job was "real grunt work" and that "most sales people start and then quit right away" and that "I wouldn't want you to work here for 6 months and then find out that you haven't gotten anywhere". But I'm staying optimistic that I'll land a good job.

Went to Cubensis shows both Sunday and Monday nights; Monday at the House of Blues in West Hollywood with Highway 61 Revisited, Joel's band. Smoked a lot of pot and drank beer both nights and came to the conclusion: "Drugs are the answer!" If I do take this job, hope I can make enough money to go to the Phil Lesh and Friends show March 12 at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco.

That used to be named San Francisco Civic Auditorium--across the street from City Hall, where my mother used to work. We'll take over more some day.
